What is Project ReNeWal?

Project ReNeWal is a Domestic Violence Intervention Program changing lives in Rockdale, Newton, and Walton Counties. Project Renewal officially opened its doors on November 13, 1995, as the first tri-county shelter for victims of domestic violence. The shelter has received an enormous amount of support from the community and many community members serve on our board of directors.

Dear Ms. Lauri, I woke up this morning not being able to feel my feet, I know it was because of the anxiety I went through yesterday. I prayed and made myself get up! I had an important task to complete! It consisted of me going to court to settle an eviction. I then began to feel the fear of seeing my abuser set in… I felt so ALONE, then I heard the words you said to me yesterday, “you have us now, you can talk to any one of us about anything, you are protected here. The officers will protect you in court and will not let your abuser get to you.” You may never know how that made me feel! I felt my butterflies began to come to a halt, yes, the flutters are stopping. I prayed for strength as well as courage. I thank you and Ashley, and the rest of the staff at Project Renewal for being here for me and my kids and allowing us to be here as I prepare for this new, peaceful, and exciting journey I am about to take! Thanks again for your huge heart!

Project Renewal, I am so blown away by the treatment my children and I have received from each individual here at Project Renewal. From the moment I walked through the door, we were embraced with love and care. We did not need a thing while we were here! We will forever be grateful for all the help we received.
